How Does the CANBUS Decoder Work?
Apr 24,2019 Lilian Carson
The technology of the decoder is mainly to increase the wattage of the LED bulbs and send a signal to the CAN bus system of the car. Most of the times the after part LED headlights fail to work because their power does not reach the minimum requirement of the installed CAN bus system.
Decoder usually is made by residence. How it can work? See the below analysis:
Based on P=U*U/R, in parallel circuit, the total residence Ra is smaller than any of the residence R1 or R2, so the total power Pa is higher when the Ra is smaller
Or based on P=U*U/R, in parallel circuit, the total current Ia is the total of I1 and I2, so the total power Pa is higher when the Ia is bigger.
When the power is higher to reach the minimum requirement of the installed CAN bus system, the error will be cancelled; the new LED lights will work just fine.
